Waiting is SO HARD!!

I am the kind of person stamp companies love - I see an image and NEED it!!  For a while, I got around my impulses by deleting the emails about new releases without even reading them. My system didn't work very well lately, because the combination of amazing sales and images/ideas sucked me into a buying streak.  I am now waiting on three orders from three different places!  And waiting for these amazing new goodies is really hard!!  As I tell my five year old granddaughter, it's a chance to "practice patience", but it's not easy!   I bought a bunch of oddballs from Stamping Bella's new release and colored up this cutie to help pass the time.

True confession - this is the first time this stamp  (Owliver Loves to Celebrate) was inked; unfortunately, I discovered it is discontinued.  Does that give you a little idea about why I stopped looking at new releases?!?!  The speech bubble sentiment is from MFT, called All the Encouragement.  (The link is to Ellen Hutson because it doesn't appear on MFT's site.)

I know, there is a labor shortage and the USPS post office is a crap-shoot with deliveries; cross your fingers that my purchases arrive before I explode!

PPCF- Joy Clair Designs and Love Santa

Joy Clair Designs is a sponsor over on the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends for the next few days.  This digital stamp is from a collection called, Love Santa.  It comes with three different adorable Santas and 4 sentiments.  What a fun Santa image to color!

I planned to make this image into a mini-slimline card as I was coloring.  However, when I went to my scrap drawers and found the silver oval from last year, I loved the layout.  After coloring the box with N0, N1, & N2, I covered it in Stickles to give it some sparkle.  White heat embossing of Ellen Hutson's Fa La La background stamp adds a great element to the card design.  It's mounted on SU's Real Red.

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting back into coloring with my Copics.  Hope you have the chance to do something creative this weekend!

PPCF - Izzy Reindeer from Di's Digi

Yep, I have hopped back in the DT groove and it feels good! This is my first Passionate Paper Creations & Friends Design Team post.  I hope you will stop by the FB group and see what other DT members have in store for you over the next few days.  If you aren't part of the PPC&F group - please join!  It's a great community- the DT is an electric group from the US, Canada, and across the pond!

This little cutie is Izzy's Reindeer from Di's Digi's.  I fussy cut her and popped her out on foam in front of a bit of white sparkle paper from my stash.

The tree background is a stencil called Rustic Trees from Simple Stories; the bottom panel is a stamp called Fa La La from Ellen Hutson; the sentiment is Photo Play's Merry Christmas stamp set. Both are white embossed on white and blended with SU's Rose Red ink.

A shout out to Melissa Phillips for the color combination.  I love her combinations in this card, which inspired me to look for Copics that matched.

PPCF - Lee Holland's Christmas Dragon

Lee Holland has to be an illustrator whose style is close in recognizability with Anita Jeram's lovable children's book illustrations and images from the Colorado Craft Company.  Visiting Lee Holland's Etsy shop is a journey into whimsy, gentleness, and sweetness.  If you know children's books, his animals will be familiar to you.

I was thrilled to hear he is a sponsor for the Passionate Paper Creations & Friends FB group and to have the chance to color this sweet Christmas Dragon on Holly Leaf.

I started by grabbing my pencil and making decisions about where my shading and highlights would be - and then came the color choices!!  Knowing I wanted to use traditional Christmas colors but avoid a green dragon, the next decision was a dragon color that complimented the reds and greens.  I colored the dragon thinking I was going to use a different paper behind the image, but changed my mind.  I needed something that had more of the BG dragon color - and luckily, found the plaid paper in my stash and a new game plan twas formulated! Some sparkle and MFT's Mini Merry Messages was the right choice for a sentiment.

You'll see the DT feature Lee's illustrations throughout November.  Please use this link to help us know you found Lee's Etsy site through PPCF, which will encourage his sponsorship. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
