{BYSHC} Sketch Challenge #34

I am back with my second card with this month's Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers' June sketch.

This card uses the Simply Snowmen Stamp and Die set from Papertrey Ink.  I stamped the snow person with white pigment ink on kraft paper and used white for most of the accessories.  The snow banks are die cut from white glitter cardstock and I had a rectangle of vellum I ran through an embossing folder on my desk, so I used it for this card.  Some snowflakes that were meant for a shaker card came in handy to glue around the card, as did some clay peppermint candies. BTW's those itty-bitty blender brushes that folks have out now really come in handy for adding dimension and color in small spots!!  (Just sayin - in case you need to feel enabled!!)

Here's the sketch - hope you are inspired to play along with us! Then link your card up on in the {BYSHC} FB Group.  I'd love to see what you create.

Let's Craft & Create - June Challenge

Remember the 80's song, "Hip to Be Square"?!?  We are bringing it back as the theme of this month's Let's Craft & Create Challenge #196. I went to my stash of papers and found a square card back and envelope and started from there.

The background is created by inking a 3D embossing folder with gray Distress Oxide ink before running it through my Spellbinders machine.  After it dried, I blended some light aqua on top.  The dragonflies are Jumbo Curiosity: Dragonflies stencil and die set from The Greetery.  I finished off with a Pinkfresh foiled sentiment and some embellishments.

I hope you have time to play along with our challenge this month! Thanks for stopping by my blog.                          In kindness, Cathy

{BYSHC} June Sketch Challenge #34

It's the first day of June and that means a new sketch over on the BYSH Cardmakers Blog.

I went to my stash and pulled out a Echo Park Paper's Santa Claus Lane stencil, some TE Glitter Grab, and silver star Deco Foil for the background, which went well with the fabulous Julie Ebersol sentiment from Ellen Hutson.  By the way - using Glitter Grab and a stencil is so easy with the Minc and Deco Foil. It dries pretty quickly and isn't too thick in the stencil.

I die cut a rectangle from vellum and embossed the sentiment in black.   A triangle shaped Christmas tree is lined up so one of the stars looked like it was on top. The twine even has some silver foil, which helped me keep as much sparkle as possible going around the card!

I hope you have a chance to lay with this month's sketch.  Remember to link up your card in the BYSHC FB group!  Thanks for stopping by my blog.
